Drawing to Life is an interactive digital installation project that invites visitors to color pre-printed templates and scan them to watch their artwork spring into motion on a large screen. Set within a designated thematic world, this creative activity bridges traditional coloring with cutting-edge technology to offer an engaging, immersive experience for all ages. The initiative transforms static illustrations into dynamic visual elements, fostering creativity and active participation within the public space.

THE EXPERIENCE
DRAWING TO LIFE
Technically, the project utilizes high-resolution document scanners linked to a custom-configured projection mapping and animation software pipeline. Once a colored sheet is scanned, computer vision algorithms process the drawing’s outlines and color fills, instantly mapping them onto a pre-rigged digital 3D model. This rendered asset is then dynamically integrated into the animated big-screen background, where users can see their unique creations interact with the themed environment in real-time.
